Miso Soup can prevent breast cancer and nicotine-related disorders! True or False?

In a world were information bombardment drive us more confused than informed, I want to lift some fog by providing common sense contest and share science based evidence (when available). Many studies swear than soy is medicine for cancer patients while other studies prove that soy can even cause cancer. How is it possible? First of all let’s accept once for all that medical research is not a synoniem of exact science. In his landmark 2005 essay, Stanford professor Dr. John Ioannidis argued that the majority of published research findings are false due to statistical probability, bias, and flawed methodology. This affirmation per se is enough to prove my point.  In my 3 years of basic medical school I often found that the results on same phytotheropic supplement gave very different results, depending on the methodology and almost always ended with the same mantra: “There is nort enough evidence to prove this remedy is safe to use. More study is needed to understand the possible efficacy.” This is exactely what prof. Ioannidis has been able to prove : among many other reasons, his first claim is indeed related to the small scale that certain research are studied very the sclae Miso Soup surely can
